How heat moves through the system
In a vapour-compression cycle the evaporator absorbs heat as low-pressure refrigerant boils, the compressor raises pressure and temperature, the condenser rejects heat and condenses the vapour, and the expansion device drops pressure before the cycle repeats.
Pressure and temperature must be interpreted together for the specific refrigerant. Superheat helps confirm vapour at the compressor inlet; subcooling helps confirm liquid feeding the expansion device. Only trained, authorised personnel should connect gauges or handle refrigerant.
Evaporator absorbs, compressor raises pressure, condenser rejects, expansion device meters; interpret pressure with temperature and refrigerant type.
