Signposting your answer
Signposting tells the listener the shape of your answer before you give it, which buys thinking time and makes you sound organised.
Useful phrases: "There were three main steps." "Let me start with the context." "The key issue was..." "As a result..." "Looking back, what I would change is..."
Using two or three per answer noticeably improves perceived fluency even when your vocabulary is limited.
Signposting buys time and signals structure; two or three phrases per answer improves fluency.
