Modules, strings, arrays and inverters
PV modules connected in series form a string: voltage adds while current stays broadly the same. Parallel strings form an array: current adds. The inverter tracks maximum power and converts DC to grid-compatible AC. System design must keep open-circuit voltage below the inverter limit at the coldest expected temperature.
Energy yield depends on irradiation, orientation, temperature, shading and system losses. A small shaded area can limit an entire string, so layout and string grouping matter as much as module rating.
Series adds voltage, parallel adds current; check cold open-circuit voltage; shading and temperature affect real yield.
